*Sunny's Bobbinwork*
Sunny likes to do "Bobbinwork". It's an embroidery technique that is new to me. She sent along a photo of one design from my Indigenous Cultural Designs Collection.
It looks really cool!!
Here's an excerpt from the email Sunny sent explaining what she did with this design to create this particular project...
"OK, I enlarged the design, put somewhat thicker thread in the bobbin for the outside and the satin inside, and I used a thick, green metallic (Razzle Dazzle by Superior) for the inside (with a different bobbin case). Sorry the picture doesn't do it justice! I also enlarged it as an experiment The outside color was variegated, and the black on black part doesn't show up very well. But you know, it is a lot of work to think of all the things involved, and at the end I like your originals better! Anyway, here is a photo I just took of a sample stitch-out. Probably would have looked better on a beige muslin or homespun-like fabric. I also put the tear-away stabilizer on the top of the hoop and added a basting stitch all around the design before sending it to the machine."
Thanks Sunny.. keep playing!! :-)
